Access devices must be on the wifi network to connect to the app, and the app never recognizes that my phone is on its network so NEVER connects. I'm not sure how long ago it happened but the app just plain stopped working.

The modem/router and this associated software are DEFINITELY not worth eventually saving the $14/month we were paying comcast for their device and far superior network management tools.

It made me angry that I had to enable location data to manage my router via app-what's the point of having an admin tool on a portable device if you have to be home to use it? It was touchy to get in and the parental controls were absolute garbage, no value or functionality to them if there's more than one adult connecting a single device to the network. NOTE: If the self-activation is unsuccessful, gather the HFC MAC Address labeled as HFC MAC ID and the Serial number ( S/N) listed on the bottom label of the gateway and contact the service provider to activate the SBG10.The ARRIS SURFboard® Manager app is being updated to SURFboard Central. The service provider’s self-activation page may appear to register the SBG10. Enter the address box and press the Enter key.
There may be up to a 15 sec delay for the Power LED on the SBG10 front panel to light up after the power is connected. NOTE: This automatically powers ON the SBG10.
NOTE: Client device with Ethernet connection is not required to complete installation. Connect the Ethernet cable to the Ethernet port on the computer and to the Ethernet port on the rear of the SBG10.Hand-tighten the connectors to avoid damaging them. Connect the coaxial cable to a cable wall outlet (if not connected) and the Cable connector on the rear of the SBG10.
